PHOTO: MARC MAYERAdam McDaid is a cinematographer whose work spans award-winning feature films, commercials, documentaries, and music videos. A graduate of the American Film Institute's MFA program in cinematography, Adam has built a career that has taken him around the world — shooting stories across genres and continents with equal parts craft and curiosity.
His most recent feature, Bilyarista, was shot on location in Manila. A gritty, character-driven drama set in the shadowy world of billiards and underground gambling, the film stars John Arcila (Best Actor, Venice Film Festival 2021) and Loisa Andalio, directed by Phil Giordano, and colored by Jaime O'Bradovich at Company 3.
On the television side, Adam has lensed two series for Freeform — the critically acclaimed Single Drunk Female, named one of the New York Times' Best TV Shows of 2023, and Everything's Trash. His additional credits include the Netflix documentary series Killer Sally, HBO's PAUSE with Sam Jay, and the Peacock limited series John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise.
Among his most cherished projects is Here Alone, directed by Rod Blackhurst, which took home the Audience Award for Best Feature at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
When he's not behind the camera, you'll find Adam hunting down the perfect slice, wandering the streets with his stills camera, or chilling on his couch in Brooklyn with his wife and two cats.
